Home testing for COVID-19 may be a risk

The Coronavirus(COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that killed millions of people around the world starting in 2019.
The Food and Drug Administration(FDA) approved home testing of COVID-19 and the flu.
After reviewing and going through several articles, I have come to the conclusion that this idea is helpful but not the best idea, especially after going through a global pandemic. We have to go by what we know – failed solutions and an equal cause.
First, we go by what we know. We know that the coronavirus has been a constant issue worldwide for three years now. We also know that the FDA approved a vaccine that was similar to the flu vaccine. It merely contained the virus by inserting a small amount of the virus in the human body in order for our antibodies and white blood cells to build up an immunity to the virus. The vaccine has not only contained the virus but in some ways brought it back.
In the last three months COVID-19 cases have started to rise again but more rapidly around the United States. Why? Because opening the door for home testing caused more problems. People could test themselves at home and still go outside without a mask on without a care in the world and you would never know. Which brings me to my next point.
Second, we have to look and observe all of the failed attempts or ways to sustain COVID-19.
Based on the article from TIME magazine, we know that from the former presidency of Donald J. Trump “wasting weeks early on, downplaying the virus; and convincing Americans to a fantastical belief that the virus will simply ‘disappear’ caused the virus to spread at an alarming rate.”
He banned travel to and from China but squandered the time by failing to set up an adequate testing and tracing program. He encouraged states to reopen ahead of his own administration’s guidelines; and he has repeatedly cherry-picked statistics that make the situation in the U.S. look far better than it is in reality. So how could home testing for COVID-19 even be considered a solution?
Even though the FDA has approved of home testing, it does not mean that people are going to conform to the idea of remaining at home for a specified amount of time, to go through the healing process needed to get over COVID-19 which brings me to my final point.
Finally, we have to start thinking of a better solution to this coronavirus situation. Yes, home testing may be a better way of finding out if you have COVID-19 and it may allow you some privacy in the sanctity of your home to get better without anyone even knowing that you had the virus. However, all people are not honest and many of them will not take the proper steps to protect others.
We all know that the United States population is made up of people who really do not care about the health of the next person so they would not care if they had COVID-19 and went out and spread it like a wildfire because it does not bother them.
Some people would rather see the world burn than it be a better place for everyone. When taking an at-home test Americans should report that they have COVID-19 immediately or the test should come with some type of technology that reports someone with COVID-19 to a near by hospital or health service center.
In conclusion, the at home testing for COVID-19 is not only a risk to the people, but a risk to the United States as a whole.
