Digital and Interactive
Since interactive media refers to digital media that depends on the audience’s participation, and digital media is usually a mixture of computerized elements such as moving graphics, digital text, and sound, interactive media surrounds everything we do. The Digital and Interactive Media Department allows The Hornet Tribune to report the news faster than ever before and in ways that the staff never dreamed possible such as the use of the cell phone and website. The website is not merely interactive but also makes relevant information easily accessible to the reader. The Hornet Tribune Online (www.asuhornettribune.com) is an example of students being able to report, write and publish at lightning speed. The online content adheres to the same standards and ethical guidelines as the print content. The core values of journalistic integrity, partnered with the audience and community that it serves will guide the digital work, just as they do in print media.

I’m Amber Mitchell, a junior psychology major from Chicago, Illinois, with minors in biology and sociology. I attended Amundsen High School in Chicago, Illinois, where I participated in the Honors Band, Robotics, and the Girls Who Code coding organization, before moving to Alabama State University. I chose Alabama State University because they offered me the academic incentive scholarship, which I am really grateful for, and I wanted to attend a historically black university. I am the daughter of Delora Mills and Kevin Mitchell. Since my arrival, I’ve joined The Hornet Tribune.
Because I was the only minority in my community when I was growing up and because there were few people who looked like me as a transfer student from another university, I always knew I wanted to attend an HBCU. I was aware that I wanted to spend my college years surrounded by people who shared my culture. I haven’t decided on a graduate program yet, but I do know that I want to go somewhere that is very close to my house. Whether it’s nearer to Chicago or even a state nearby. I believe it would be really helpful to have that nearby familial support while attending graduate school.
After I finish my graduate studies, I want to work in therapy to support people’s mental health, and then I’ll work in psychiatry. I picked The Hornet Tribune to work for because I’ve always been interested in digital and interactive media. It has been a wonderful experience working continuously to produce interactive media during my undergraduate years. The Hornet Tribune gives me the chance to apply my expertise and aids in the expansion and improvement of my talents through the criticism of more knowledgeable people.

My name is Jarodney Walker, a computer science major at Alabama State University.
I believe in hard work and intrinsic motivation.
I graduated from Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Georgia. Throughout my school life, I gained leadership skills after being active in the Political Leadership Magnet Program at Jonesboro High School.
I chose to major in computer science because I want to gain technical skills in networking, mobile and web development, and data and network security. We are in the Artificial Intelligent (AI) era, which has more risks. As much as it benefits businesses, more personal data is prone to attacks and manipulation. I. I want to help more people have their data secure and not compromised. Through the skills I will gain in the next few years, I want to help organizations carry out penetration testing and organizational operations collaboratively and improve the performance of firms worldwide.
I chose to join The Hornets Tribune because it will allow me to meet different people and form connections that can be used in the future.

Since arriving at Alabama State University, I have affiliations with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and hopefully the Biomedical Club.

And I chose ASU because of the rich and diverse HBCU experience it offers as well as a lifetime opportunity to become a wholesome individual with the skills to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
The son of Josephine Bhebhe; and Fanuel Bhebhe, I chose to work with the Hornet Tribune this year because I am an experiential learner; I learn and grow from doing things. Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced below for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham. It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
