While hundreds of tailgaters lined their recreational vehicles on the east side of the Alabama State University football stadium on Oct. 5, and alumni continued to mingle and socializing after the game, shots rang out near the tailgaters which caused everyone who heard the gunshots to run for cover, while some alumni, students and fans experienced trampling.
The Montgomery Police Department responded to the scene and confirmed that an unknown number of people fired gunshots into the air. Law enforcement reported no injuries to people or property after responding to the scene.
