Evangelist Duranice Pace, famously known as a member of The Anointed Pace Sisters, died on January 14, 2021 at 62 years of age. On her Instagram page, Pace’s family announced to her fans that the singer had been hospitalized on Jan. 5. However, the family did not reveal any additional information to the reason why she had been admitted. 

“Pastor Duranice Pace was recently hospitalized. She is currently doing well and getting stronger. The family would like the help of all supporters and friends to be a blessing and encouragement to her through song, as she has been to countless others,” said Pace’s family, encouraging her fans to lift her up through song. 

Born and raised in Atlanta alongside her eight sisters and one brother, Pace grew up singing with her siblings at her father’s church. In 1988, Pace and her sisters decided to form a singing group. They began their professional singing career and created their first studio album, “It’s the Morning Time,” in 1992.  The standing members include: June Pace-Martin, Dejuaii Pace, Latrice Pace, Phyllis Pace, Melonda Pace, Leslie Pace and Lydia Pace. LaShun Pace has a solo gospel career, but she was in the group previously and is a recurring member. 

During a 20 year span of releasing music, the group shared six projects to the world, including “In the Hands of God” and “Access Granted.” Duranice’s powerful belting voice resonated with many of the group’s fans and she became one of the favorites. 

Just five months short of the anniversary of her mother’s death, Duranice is survived by her brother, sisters and son. Her official cause of death has yet to be released.
