Hello, my name is Calandrea Carter, a sophomore at Alabama State University majoring in communications. Before arriving at the university, I attended Alabama Virtual Academy High School which is located in Eufaula, Alabama.

As the daughter of Cleve Carter III and Aimee Carter, I was attracted to Alabama State University because both my parents attended and graduated from Alabama State University .  I looked at other schools, but I believe this one is the best fit for me.  I hope to one day to continue the legacy of our family at Alabama State University.

While enrolled in Alabama Virtual Academy I was involved in the National Honor Society. My senior year of high school I did community service with Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in their Teen Muses program.

After arriving at Alabama State University I decided to work with The Hornet Tribune as a writer and reporter because it will help me learn how to write and become more experience in the area of my specialization, add to my resume and help improve and develop my communications skills.

I would definitely encourage any student who is enrolled at Alabama State University to join The Hornet Tribune staff because it will provide opportunities and experiences that will help you grow professionally within your careers.
