Association of Alumni Who Want to Advance The Hornet Tribune

The Association of Alumni who Want to Advance The Hornet Tribune (“Association”) serves as an external driving force in the effort to advance The Hornet Tribune newspaper.  Membership in the Association provides former staff members with a deeper connection to The Hornet Tribune. By joining with hundreds of other former staff members who support the Association, the Association can work as a group to support and maintain the greatness of The Hornet Tribune while pushing the institution forward to new levels of accomplishment.

The Association seeks to serve as a conduit through which former staff members deepen their connection to The Hornet Tribune and works to foster pride in Alabama State University through each alumni interaction.

Mission

The mission of the Association is to build a feeling of pride and loyalty among former staff members while strengthening participation in alumni programs; to coordinate the efforts of alumni on behalf of The Hornet Tribune as a whole; and to provide a unified voice for all former staff members in the affairs of The Hornet Tribune.

Members of the Association have the opportunity to connect with The Hornet Tribune alumni across the country and continue to celebrate the rich traditions that make The Hornet Tribune newsroom such a special place. In addition, members serve as the “Keepers of Tradition” by upholding and preserving The Hornet Tribune’s history and traditions through student programming and events, such as the annual First Amendment Week.
