A McCalla 20-year-old is the sixth person to be charged in last month’s slaying of a Ramsay High School senior.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday announced murder and first-degree robbery charges against Rodriquez Tyon Allen. He was arrested Friday and is being held on $500,000 bond.

Rodriquez T. Allen, 20 years of age from McCalla, was arrested on November 29, 2019 and has been charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree. He is being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $500,000 in the shooting death of 17-year-old Stanley M. Turner II.

Previously arrested on the same charges are:

– Jamicah J. Jordan, 17, of Pleasant Grove. Jordan remains jailed on $500,000 bond.

– Jakobi C. Witherspoon, 18, of Pleasant Grove. Witherspoon remains held on $1.3 million bond.

– Aja Kylandrea Brenee Whitt, 17, of Pleasant Grove. She has been released jail after posting $500,000.

– Jamaal Antowain Phillips, 17, of Pleasant Grove. Phillips has been released on $500,000 bond.

– A juvenile whose name has not been released because of his age remains held in the Shelby County Youth Detention Center.

Sheriff’s deputies responded at 1:46 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, to a report of a noise complaint at the Sonesta Extended Stay Suites on Greenhill Parkway in northern Shelby County. When deputies arrived, they found Turner unresponsive in a vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Friends, family and school officials mourned Turner’s death.

Antwuan Thomas said Turner’s goal was to attend the University of Alabama on an academic scholarship. “He was very smart,” Thomas said. “He was a cool person to be around and didn’t have a problem with anyone. Everyone liked him.”

“He will be missed heavily,’’ Thomas said. “I just don’t understand why this happened to such a good person.”

“I truly don’t understand how anyone could do this to Stan,’’ said another friend, Rashad Hicks. “Every time I saw Stan, he was being goofy, making someone laugh or had a smile on his face. He will truly be missed.”
