Hornets view Episode-4

What is up Hornet Nation, today is an amazing day as it is Friday, day before the big homecoming  game and so much this week has already happened, I can’t wait to give you the breakdown and  make sure you guys are staying to the end for the Am I The Stinger segment.  This week has been nothing but electric and amazing so far from my point of view and I  can’t wait to give you guys my view.  Keep tuning in on Hornet’s View, let’s get to it.

Alright now before we start I gotta ask you guys a question, it’s lowkey a hot take and  you know I’ve been arguing about it with some of the guys on campus for a while. So just you know, real quick let me ask y’all this question.  Is holding your homeboy’s hand gay?  Now before y’all cut the podcast off, before y’all cut the podcast off, hear me out.

Some say it’s just showing love, you know like it’s just holding your homeboy’s hand like that’s your brother, that’s the way you show love.  And some say it’s crossing lines, what do y’all think?  Hit me up on social at savion underscore essiet and please let me know what you guys think  about that.  Now let’s get into this podcast.

First thing I want to talk about is let’s talk about royalty.  You know this is my first coordination, I don’t know what I was expecting but what happened  was not. The elegance, the tradition, the outfits, the tux, the dress of the queen, the watching  them throw the robe over her and it is this gorgeous, gorgeous robe that says ASU coordination  queen, something along those lines.

It was so gorgeous.  So I want to shout out Miss Sydney Guy, congratulations and you deserve every, you deserve it.  That’s pretty much all I can say, it was so amazing, the reception from beginning to end  as I was in the coordination, everything was tight, very strict.

They played no games, I don’t know how to explain it, it was very professional, it was  very professional and you know I was just glad to be a part of it. (2:07) But as we’re moving on to the next segment, let’s talk about this block party, PJ party  slash thing that happened a couple of days ago.  So let’s get into the issue on why weren’t people allowed in.

I’ve heard mixed signals between some people saying it was too full, other people saying  they weren’t getting in the line to get in but I know when I left from outside, from inside, it was packed.  Inside it was no more than like 70 people, it was no more than like 70 people inside  and it was amazing because the Greeks were strolling, Fear Factor was strolling, Dance  by Dance was strolling, it was truly amazing and I think I saw the volleyball team strolling.  I don’t know if I’m for sure on that but I’m pretty sure I seen the volleyball team and  they had a stroll going and I thought that was truly amazing.

Other than that, the actual party itself on the inside of the CAV was, it was decent, they played good music, it was definitely an environment to be around, it would have  been better if they let more people in but I don’t know why they weren’t. But when I went outside and what you guys did after was also truly great where you guys  had moved it to the amp and it was nice.  The Greeks started strolling out there again and y’all, man y’all was out there partying  for a minute.

I believe it was till about 1, 2 a.m. man. But it is HOKO week. It is HOKO week and you know that’s what it’s about, you know, being out there, being outside,  having a good time and to those who aren’t having a good time, don’t be going around saying everything lame, hashtag I hate this, HOKO or whatever because that’s just being  a Debbie Downer and it really brings down the spirit to everybody else.

Like if you want to have a good time, speak it into the universe.  You don’t get anything out of being like, oh this is lame, don’t go.  So what are you going to do, sit in your room?  Like do something, like people can say it’s lame all they want but it’s lame because you’re  making it lame.

If you have a good group of friends, the time is supposed to be made with you and your  friends, not about what everybody else is doing.  So that’s my take on it.  But let’s get into this next segment.

Let’s get into it.  The Gucci concert.  The Gucci concert.

I know a lot of people didn’t want to go to the Gucci concert, but some people went to the comedy show, but we’ll talk about that later. We’re on Gucci now.  No disrespect to Gucci, I just don’t listen to his music, it’s out of my time personally.

But I know some people that did go. Now Huncho and Trina, I know nothing about that.  I know nothing about that at all.

But what I can say is the people that did go had a great time and the people that didn’t  go, I guess it’s our loss.  I don’t listen to them.  But if you didn’t go because you heard other people were saying it’s lame, you missed out  on a good concert.

I will say that. I’m not a con- first concert I’m going to go to is a J. Cole concert.  That’s me.

I can’t give it up to Gucci like that, I ain’t that easy.  But if you’ve been to concerts before and you didn’t take this chance to go to this  Gucci concert, I do feel like you missed out.  I do feel like you missed out.

Now let’s talk about this SS4U vibe party.  Now when I was there, the music was great.  They were playing bangers, classics.

There were even some people dancing, there were some people dancing, taking photos.  Now the problem with the party, it was only this one little problem. Nobody was there.

I got there, it was maybe 14 people there.  I got there at 9.50, 50 minutes after it was supposed to start.  And then after I got there, I stayed there until about 11.30.  Same amount of people, same people were there.

No one else showed up.  And truly, I was just blown all together because I did buy the 3-in-1 bypass and I’ve  been the one.  And then from what I’m hearing, people aren’t even going to the control of the traffic.

They’re going to Red Room. So we got to figure out some way to get this together or something.  You know what I’m saying?  So we’re all at the same parties because everybody went to the tailgate.

And I’m just at SS4U and it wasn’t it.  It wasn’t it.  But some vibe parties be hitting.

So I’m not going to throw vibe out the window like they don’t be hitting sometimes.  They do.  But this SS4U was not it.

It was 13, 15 people there.  And I just wasn’t enjoying it.  But let’s move on to the comedy show.

Chico Bean, DC Young Fly, and the Wild N Out crew.  I didn’t go, but I heard it was nice.  I heard it was nice, it was funny, and it was sold out.

I wasn’t able to get a ticket.  And the step show tonight is also sold out.  But it’s in the new stadium parking lot.

Are you really going to like not let me go and it’s in a parking lot?  Like I don’t know how you want us to pay for that. Hopefully I can pay at the door. But they let me know if y’all went to the step show.

I can’t wait to talk about it on next week’s podcast because I am recording this on Friday.  And the step show starts in about an hour.  So let’s move on to the favorite segment that you guys have all been waiting for our Am  I the Stinger segment.

Let’s get into it.  All right.  And for today’s Am I the Stinger, we have a, he’s low key valid, but I’m going to let you guys determine that.

I’m going to let you guys determine that.  So today’s story, I broke up with my girlfriend because she doesn’t support me. And honestly, she’s not even trying to better herself.

Like I’m in college, I’m focused on leveling up, setting goals, trying to make sure I’m  straight after graduation. But every time I talk about my grind, she either shrugs it off or says it’s too much.  She’s cool just coasting, no goals, no push.

It got to the point where I felt like I was dragging dead weight. So I ended it.  Am I the Stinger?  Man, I’m not going to lie, I’m with you.

I’m all for bettering yourself and being, and just like trying to grow and connect.  And so I feel like it does take a toll when you’re trying to better yourself and become  a better person.  And when you’re telling people about it, how you’re going to better yourself or stuff you  want to do, they don’t validate it.

They don’t push to support you at all.  It’s not even like a push to support where like you need something, just like a verbal,  you got this, you know, like, oh, did you do this yet? Like you said, you’re going to do that, like hold them accountable a little bit. And so I also believe in HBCU love.

And so I feel like if she’s not providing that for you and it felt like you’re dragging  a dead weight, I don’t think you’re the Stinger there. Like I generally think you should find somebody who wants to level up with you, who’s also goal oriented.  And it’s not that it’s not hard to find that on campus.

So there’s a lot of gorgeous, beautiful, black, goal oriented women on this campus.  And so I feel like if you if that wasn’t for you, then move on.  Now, if you’re a senior and she’s a senior, you got bigger fish to fry because why is  she coasting senior year? Why is she outreaching unless she has a job lined up?  You know, I’m just able to see what what you wrote me.

But you personally, man, like you got to.  Yeah. No, you’re not the Stinger there.

And I hope you give her a good reason why.  Maybe you’re also her wake up call.  So I hope you’re doing well, man.

And make sure you guys tune in next week for another episode of Hornets View.  I want to thank you guys for listening.  Hope you guys are having a great whole week.
