The 84th Magic City Classic football game is only seven days away and this year, the title sponsor is Amazon, presented by Coca-Cola.
Alabama State University students, alumni and fans should prepare themselves for a week of activity.
The Magic City Classic Tailgate Festival will headline two Grammy-Award winning performers on Oct. 23.
Ashanti, October London, Funk Band and more will perform at the Birmingham Race Course on Oct. 23. Gates open at 3 p.m., pre-show is at 5 p.m. and showtime begins at 6 p.m. For more information, call 205-496-5547.
- THE PARADE: Saturday, October 25 at 8AM: This is a can’t-miss event for those who love to have a good time. Crowds gather all along downtown streets to watch the marching bands, dance lines, fans + more.

- THE TAILGATE: Saturday, October 25 from 10AM-2PM: Once the parade ends, head to Legion Field for the pre-game cookout.
- THE GAME: Saturday, October 25 at 2:30PM: The two teams (+ their amazing bands) take to Legion Field for the 84th annual Magic City Classic.

According to Perren King, Birmingham is expecting at lest 130,000 people to tailgate and see the parade.
King says 70,000 fans will pack into historic Legion Field to cheer on their team and watch the bands.
This year also features coverage from ESPN’s ‘First Take’ with Stephen A. Smith and Cam Newton kicking things off on Friday.
