Should former president Donald Trump be allowed to run for president again?

Should+former+president+Donald+Trump+be+allowed+to+run+for+president+again%3F

I do not think former president Donald Trump should be able to run for the United States presidency ever again.

I can remember when Trump first ran for president. Many of my middle school classmates thought adults were not that ignorant to vote for someone who had no political experience, but we were wrong. When Trump won, I remember going back to school thinking, ‘the end of the world was near,’ and there was nothing that could be done to fix it.

Ever since that day, there has been nothing but bad things said about Trump. Even though the U.S. is a mixed economy, Trump said he wanted to be a dictator, and his lack of order during the pandemic caused many to die because he tried to ignore its severity.

During the pandemic, Trump did not want to force people to follow the guidelines posted by the CDC. One guideline that was ignored was the mask mandate. Many people unnecessarily lost their lives due to a lack of obedience to the instructions. Four years ago, April 23, 2020, at a White House briefing, Trump encouraged his top health officials to study the injection of bleach into the human body as a means of fighting COVID-19. This easily influenced Trump’s supporters, leading some to ingest bleach.

Even with these problems and the poor personal decisions he made, people still love him. What really bought their love, “literally and figuratively,” was the stimulus check. This action, I fear, will allow him to possibly get presidency again over the U.S.

Former President Trump was impeached twice during his single term in office. In each case, he was acquitted on all counts by the Senate, which means he was let off the hook and found not guilty by verdict.

The first impeachment trial, in early 2020, stemmed from a call Trump had with the President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, in which Trump asked the Ukrainian president to announce two investigations: One investigation involved his potential opponent in the upcoming 2020 presidential election and the other with unsubstantiated allegations that entities within Ukraine had interfered in the 2016 presidential election.

The second impeachment occurred a year later in the waning days of the Trump presidency, following the events on Jan. 6, 2021, in the U.S. Capitol when some supporters of Trump attempted to disrupt the congressional certification of the 2020 presidential election as having been won by Joseph Biden.

Even with these impeachments, Trump is still running for president during the 2024 election year. He is currently in the lead against Nikki Haley as the other two opponents, Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy, have dropped out.

Although the actions he took made America look weak, there were some things he did right. He signed a defense spending bill that established the sixth branch of the U.S. Armed Forces – the U.S. Space Force and made changes to the tax code.

Maybe if Trump was not so egotistical and could admit that he was wrong at times, he would be more likable.

This man is so unlikeable that some of his own party members will not even endorse him as president. With this in mind, let us all be smart and not vote for Trump. Not just because he is a bad person and currently facing multiple indictments, but because he already had a failed term as president.
